SAT going fully-digital in Spring 2024.

In spring 2024, the SAT will officially go fully digital in the United States. It’s pre-test, the PSAT, will go digital for students this Fall 2023. In addition to going digital, the SAT will introduce a number of other changes as well.

Here are a few other changes. The SAT will become an adaptive exam, meaning the difficulty of exam questions will adapt to your performance. This means the exam will become shorter. Rather than taking 180 minutes (230 minutes with optional essay), the digital exam will take two hours. In addition, there will be no need for exam proctors to pass out and collect materials anymore. Finally, the exam will include tools built into the digital suite such as the ability to flag questions to come back to later, a built-in calculator, and built-in reference sheets for mathematics sections.
